All applicable credit will be reported electronically by BSII to the CFP Board.

Attorneys
- Attorneys from Alabama and North Carolina will be able to apply for credit to their respective Bars within 30 days after the course. We will have forms available during the course.

Attorneys from other states should check with their respective Bars.

Other Professionals
- All other professionals should check with their respective regulatory organizations to see what credit applies.

Financial Planners Standards Council CEU Credits
- FPSC does not pre-approve CE credits. Currently, it is up to the CFP Professional to self-assess their own CE activities in accordance with our CE requirements and examination syllabus.

The general rule of thumb in assessing an educational activity is if the activity covers one or more topics covered in the exam syllabus, then it would qualify towards their technical requirements

Any activities that cover "sales, marketing, product knowledge, communication skills and/or any other general topics" would qualify towards their general requirements. This assessment is detailed in our CE requirements located on our Web site at www.cfp-ca.org. For the most current CE requirements and examination syllabus visit our Website.

The general rule of thumb in calculating CE credits is 1 hour of education equals 1 CE credit; up to a maximum of 6 CE credits per day.

On our Web site (FPSC) we list different educational activities and note a maximum amount of credits awarded for a specific activity.

For a Canadian Certified Financial Planner there is a “requisite 30-hours of Continuing Education (CE) Requirements annually. Of the 30 CE credits required, a minimum of 20 CE credits must be in the "technical" category with the remaining credits from the "general" category. A CFP professional can claim up to a maximum of 10 general CE credits per year.

Effective for the 2004 calendar year, the CFP professional who has earned technical credits in excess of their CE requirements for the current calendar year will be permitted to effectively "carry over" these technical CE credits and apply them towards their CE requirements for the following calendar year.

"We have reviewed the Guidelines for Providers of Continuing Education Programs from the Financial Planners Standards Council and have developed this program with these guidelines in mind. Although we will provide the necessary verification of attendance, we understand it is up to the individual CFP licensee to determine whether completion/attendance at this seminar/program/course qualifies for CE credits."

Business Services International, Inc. will provide all supporting documentation required for verification of technical CE activities.
